Community Outreach & Giving

News Article:

Your Community Outreach & Giving Committee is excited to share with you the work we do on behalf of Toronto CREW!

With a team of 10-13 members, our committee’s mandate is to source, interview, qualify and recommend charitable agencies for funding of existing or new programs which focus on supporting, educating and mentoring women in need in our communities. The agencies supported have been measured against our specifically developed funding criteria and are chosen to ensure Toronto CREW’s support is as impactful as possible.

Grants from Toronto CREW are partly administered through a fund established with the Toronto Foundation in 2006. In 2016, our team recommended to the Board moving from an annual to a 3-year funding model, allowing us time to evaluate program effectiveness, deepen relationships with the agencies we fund and create opportunities for our Toronto CREW membership to volunteer with our agencies in a variety of meaningful ways.

The agencies we’re currently funding and working with under our new model are:

• United Way’s Interpreter Services Program
• Woodgreen Community Services Homeward Bound Program
• YWCA Administration Certificate Program

Over the next few weeks, our team will highlight each of our 3 agencies so our membership can learn more about their work with women in our community and how you can lend a hand through our upcoming events and initiatives!
