Who?
The Community Outreach and Giving Committee is looking for interested Toronto CREW members to volunteer three (3) hours of their time to serve as mentors and/or panelists in support of the YWCA.

What?
The Community Outreach and Giving Committee of Toronto CREW is organizing a volunteer event for interested members of Toronto CREW to share their tips on success with job-seeking users of the YWCA Skills Development Centre in an effort to help and encourage job seekers to reach for their career goals. The event will feature an opportunity for Toronto CREW members to offer their advice and insights on topics relating to career preparation, engagement and advancement. The agenda for the event will incorporate some networking, a moderated panel, and smaller breakout sessions and/or mentoring circles. Topics and questions will include: (i) interview do’s and don’ts; (ii) resume tips and review; (iii) networking skills; (iv) social media tips; and (v) how to set and achieve career goals.

Why?
The Skills Development Centre is a YWCA Toronto initiative committed to creating sustainable economic opportunities for women, organizations, individuals and communities. Housed within the Employment and Training department, it has become the heart of a vibrant national learning community where leadership development, partnerships, collaborations and social engagements are nurtured and advanced. YWCA Toronto works with over 5,000 job seekers every year to support them and help them to prepare for, engage in and thrive in today’s knowledge-based community. Like Toronto CREW, the Skills Development Centre of the Toronto YWCA is committed to providing its users with opportunities to improve and enhance career and leadership skills integral to being successful in today’s marketplace.  The Skills Development Centre of the Toronto YWCA is a current and past recipient of charitable donations from Toronto CREW through the Community Outreach and Giving Committee selection process.
