Vehicle for Inclusive Development

The commercial real estate (CRE) industry has the power to build the communities of the future. This industry plays a primary role in shaping the built environment, generating the spaces in which we live, work and play. The past two years have been dominated by a destructive virus, the impact of which has been disproportionately felt by women and communities of color. This has accentuated the pre-existing disparities in our society and has shed a particular light on the importance of affordable housing and inclusive development.

We are witnessing a social awakening, the likes of which we have never experienced. It is indeed a monumental point in time, and an opportunity for real leadership to be exhibited. We have the opportunity today to invest in economic development models that use commercial real estate development as a vehicle for transformation.

To realize this change, partnership and collaboration efforts between the private, public, and non-profit stakeholders would need to be strengthened, to steer the way forward and enact the change we all wish to see. This is a time of opportunity for CRE to positively impact change.

Join us to explore how CRE community-driven models could work, enabling more inclusive pathways to community transformation.

Toronto CREW wants to extend its commitment to supporting and influencing young women in entering the commercial real estate field. The Toronto CREW Scholarship Program awards scholarships to deserving female students enrolled in a post-secondary program specializing in real estate, or a program that would prepare a candidate for a profession found within the commercial real estate industry. Scholarship recipients are invited to participate in a range of Toronto CREW functions and events, which allows them the opportunity to network with some of the industry's top executives across a range of real estate disciplines.
