The Power of Habit

With beautiful weather on June 17, Book Club members met virtually from the comfort of their homes and back yards to discuss Charles Duhigg's, The Power of Habit: Why Do We Do What We Do in Life and Business

Host Christy Irick from Cadillac Fairview began the meeting with two TED Talks video clips related to the book's topic. In How to Try Something for 30 Days, Matt Cutts described how to form habits using a 30-day challenges like travelling to work everyday by bicycle or writing a novel in a month. Psychiatrist Judson Brewer then discussed why it's so difficult to break a bad habit in A Simple Way to Break a Bad Habit.  

Members then shared their insights in starting, stopping and modifying their habits using recent COVID-19 lockdown experiences. The discussion proved to be a compelling on the book's take-aways and getting acquainted with fellow members. See what the Book Club is reading next
