Toronto CREW’s Book Club hosted its first virtual meeting on May 6 to discuss
Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein.
Range uses athletes, artists, musicians, inventors, forecasters, and scientists to illustrate the success generalists, not specialists, have achieved at work and in life. Book club participants highlighted how the book helped them understand their own personal and career path. They recognized the benefits of building an eclectic set of skills that can lead to interesting opportunities. For some,
Range also influenced their views on parenting approaches.
Listen to David Epstein and Canadian journalist, Malcolm Gladwell, discuss
Range.
